Baseball Recap: Oakmont Beats Colfax for Their Third Straight Win

Oakmont had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Colfax Falcons by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Tuesday.

Brayden Saucedo made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Oakmont is 2-1 when Saucedo allows one or fewer hits, but 12-13 otherwise. Saucedo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Saucedo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marc Aguas, who went 1-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

The victory got Oakmont back to even at 14-14. As for Colfax, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Oakmont nor Colfax have any future games scheduled.
