Volleyball Recap: Vacaville Bulldogs vs. Oak Ridge Trojans
Vacaville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oak Ridge Trojans. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Vacaville couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Oak Ridge a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 28-30, 25-16, 16-25, 15-13.
Leading Oak Ridge to victory were Alexis Goodyear and Ella Hieb. Goodyear had seven digs and two aces, while Hieb had eight digs and four aces. Hieb is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.
Vacaville's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Oak Ridge, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Coming up, Vacaville will be playing in front of their home fans against Christian Brothers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Ridge, they will take on Sutter at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
