Preview: Falls City Beavers vs. Charlotte Trojans
Falls City is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Charlotte is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Falls City Beavers will take on the Charlotte Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Falls City put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Brackett 46-17 at home. Given Falls City's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 489th, while Brackett is ranked 1254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Charlotte posted their biggest win since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Brackett with a sharp 55-34 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Charlotte has posted against Brackett since January 3, 2020.
Kadence Luna and Gabby Mata were among the main playmakers for Charlotte as the former scored 19 points along with seven assists and six steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mata is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Boyd, who scored three points along with three steals.
Falls City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Charlotte, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.
Falls City strolled past Charlotte in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 42-26. Will Falls City repeat their success, or does Charlotte have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
