Football Recap: May River Comes Up Short

May River and Wilson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but May River had to settle for second. They took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Sharks have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Wilson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayden Bethea, who rushed for 89 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also picked up 67 receiving yards and one touchdown. Zyeir Lyde was another key rusher, rushing for 120 yards and one TD.

May River's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Wilson, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-4.

May River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson, they will challenge Hilton Head Island at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Seahawks have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine games.
