Softball Recap: Ritchie County Rebels vs. South Harrison Hawks

Ritchie County put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They beat the South Harrison Hawks by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Ritchie County.

Lilly Monn and Ava Satterfield made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Monn pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Meanwhile, Satterfield tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Monn scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Satterfield scored a run while going 1-for-1. Monn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Jayci Gray was incredible, going 4-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Bush, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

On South Harrison's side, Hope Woods was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Ritchie County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for South Harrison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Ritchie County will head out on the road to face off against Ravenswood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
