Soccer Recap: Poteet Comes Up Short

Poteet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spruce Timberwolves. Poteet were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Spruce apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Poteet's loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Spruce, their win bumped their record up to 3-0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Poteet will take on rival Seagoville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Spruce is set to square off against their familiar foe Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
