Baseball Game Preview: Elkin Buckin' Elks vs. South Stokes Sauras

Elkin is 0-7 against South Stokes since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Buckin' Elks will challenge the Sauras at 7:00 p.m. Elkin will be strutting in after a win while South Stokes will be coming in after a loss.

Elkin barely beat Alleghany the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Buckin' Elks were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Trojans on Wednesday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Buckin' Elks this season.

Wilkes Central hit South Stokes with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sauras lost 13-3 to the Eagles.

South Stokes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Kidd, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Elkin's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15. As for South Stokes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Elkin couldn't quite get it done against South Stokes when the teams last played on Monday as they fell 7-3. Can the Buckin' Elks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
