Randolph is 8-2 against Nixon-Smiley since November of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Randolph Ro-Hawks will square off against the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Randolph was beaten by Davenport 52-24. While losing is never fun, the Ro-Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 794th, while the Wolves are ranked 166th).

Meanwhile, Nixon-Smiley lost to Somerset on the road by a 53-38 margin on Tuesday.

Randolph will have to keep a close watch on Janaelyn White and Alize Davila, a pair of players who had a big impact on Nixon-Smiley's prior game. White went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points along with five boards and three steals, while Davila posted 14 points and three steals. Those 14 points gave Davila a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Janice White, who had six points and seven rebounds.

Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Nixon-Smiley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Randolph took their win against Nixon-Smiley in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 52-29. Will Randolph repeat their success, or does Nixon-Smiley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
