The Western Alamance Warriors will take on the Williams Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Western Alamance sitting on seven straight victories and Williams on six.
Western Alamance had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Cummings on Friday. The Warriors blew past the Cavaliers, posting a 34-6 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
Western Alamance didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ethan Langley, Jaxson Poole, and Jayden Jones picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Williams hadn't done well against Eastern Alamance recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 31-22.
Western Alamance better keep an eye on Kyrian Fuller. He was instrumental in Williams' win, rushing for 79 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 151 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Amarion Richmond, who gained 135 total yards.
Williams was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 173 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.
Williams' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Western Alamance, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Western Alamance has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Williams struggles in that department as they've been averaging 239.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Western Alamance was dealt a bruising 49-21 loss at the hands of Williams in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Warriors, Dan Mahan (who threw for 236 yards and five touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 147 yards and one score on only 12 carries) won't be suiting up this time.
