Baseball Recap: Thurston-Cuming County Comes Up Short

Thurston-Cuming County had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 9-7 to make it four. They fell 9-4 to Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 last Tuesday.

Owen Kneifl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Braylen Wegner, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer, their record is now 8-9. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

On Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer's side, Elliot Reeson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Reeson has become a key player for Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Hass, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
