Volleyball Recap: Spanaway Lake Sentinels vs. South Kitsap Wolves

Spanaway Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the South Kitsap Wolves. The Sentinels were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15.

Genesis Watkins-Tailele paced Spanaway Lake's offense, picking up six kills. Watkins-Tailele got some help from Aliana Siguaw and her 15 assists. Finally, Danae Sharp kept Spanaway Lake's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Carly Lyons was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten assists and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high. Kiki Wilson also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Spanaway Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Kitsap, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Spanaway Lake will challenge rival Yelm at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, South Kitsap is set to take on their familiar foe Rogers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
