Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Lake Travis' Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Lake Travis won the last time they faced Del Valle and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lake Travis Cavaliers came out on top against the Del Valle Cardinals by a score of 48-35. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 728th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Del Valle's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Michiya Marshall, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and five steals, and Jamya Tisdale, who posted eight points and 14 rebounds. Tisdale is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games she's played.

Lake Travis is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. As for Del Valle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-17.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dripping Springs the next time they take the court. Lake Travis will host Dripping Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Del Valle will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
