Baseball Recap: St. Bernard Comes Up Short

St. Bernard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the New London Whalers. That's two games in a row now that the Saints have lost by exactly four runs.

St. Bernard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Gallagher, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

St. Bernard's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for New London, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Bernard will venture away from home to challenge Griswold at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New London, they will head out to take on Grasso Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Whalers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
