Softball Game Preview: Wolcott RVT Wildcats vs. Platt RVT Panthers

Wolcott RVT hasn't had much luck against Platt RVT recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. Wolcott RVT knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Platt RVT likes a good challenge.

Wolcott RVT blew Vinal RVT out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Vinal RVT got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 10, 2024.

Ava Schaer was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Muscaro, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

Meanwhile, Platt RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Stratford, falling 10-2.

Wolcott RVT's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Platt RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Wolcott RVT might still be hurting after the 14-1 loss they got from Platt RVT when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
