Basketball Recap: Center Point Takes a Loss

Center Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Goldthwaite Eagles 88-20. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1563rd, while the Eagles are ranked 668th).

Center Point's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Goldthwaite, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Center Point will face off against Johnson City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Center Point is facing Johnson City at the right time seeing as Johnson City is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Goldthwaite, they are taking a road trip to square off against San Saba at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. Goldthwaite knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully San Saba likes a good challenge.
