Baseball Recap: Maclay Comes Up Short

If Maclay was feeling good fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Jefferson County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Marauders fell just short of the Florida State University High School Seminoles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Marauders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seminoles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Maclay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Florida State University High School, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maclay will take on Munroe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Florida State University High School, they will square off against Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
