Basketball Recap: Tazewell Takes a Loss

Tazewell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 69-59 to the Cornerstone Christian Academy Lions.

It was another big night for Drew Roop, who posted 29 points in addition to five assists and four steals for Cornerstone Christian Academy. Austin Amburgey was another key player, going 7-for-11 to rack up 15 points and five boards.

Tazewell's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tazewell will host Grundy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will welcome Appalachian Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
