Volleyball Recap: Laton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Laton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Coast Union Broncos. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Laton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.

Gabriella Alvarado paced Laton's offense, picking up 11 kills. Alvarado really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Laton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Coast Union, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laton will challenge Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coast Union, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Alpaugh at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
