Basketball Recap: Aliceville Comes Up Short

Aliceville lost against Greene County two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Aliceville Yellowjackets took a blow against the Greene County Tigers, falling 53-26. The match marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Greene County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janyria Hutton led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Hutton also posted six blocks, which is notable because Greene County is 8-4 when she posts at least three blocks, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kimora Powell, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.

Aliceville's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Greene County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Aliceville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greene County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-44 defeat against Tuscaloosa Academy on the 3rd.
