Basketball Recap: Chickasaw Takes a Loss

If Chickasaw was riding high fresh off their 53-22 takedown of Citronelle back in November, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chickasaw Chieftains were dealt a 62-25 loss at the hands of the Bryant Hurricanes on Friday. The Chieftains have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

It was another big night for Mari-Margret Grayson, who posted 25 points for Bryant. The match was Grayson's third in a row with at least ten points. Madi-Marie Grayson was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Chickasaw now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Bryant, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Chickasaw will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Luke's Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Bryant, they will be taking part in a tournament against Seymour at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Bryant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
