Volleyball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado lost against Cathedral Catholic last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Islanders fell just short of the Dons by a score of 2-1.

Ashlynn Proctor paced Coronado's offense, picking up 14 kills. Proctor got some help from Brooke Proctor and her 24 assists. Finally, Madison Davis kept Coronado's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Cathedral Catholic was led to victory by Lauren Hanson and Samantha Saba. Hanson had 11 digs and two aces, while Saba had nine digs and one assist. That's the most aces Hanson has posted over her last six matchups.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 29-6. As for Cathedral Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Coronado has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Christian on the 14th. As for Cathedral Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Torrey Pines on the 11th.
