Trinity picks up third straight win at home

Recap: Trinity Celtics vs. Smoky Valley Vikings

The Trinity Celtics entered their tilt with the Smoky Valley Vikings with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Trinity sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 win over Smoky Valley on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Trinity has posted since December 7, 2023.

Smoky Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kristian Ryan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ryan has scored all season. Ki Blanchat was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Trinity pushed their record up to 6-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Smoky Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity will stay at home for another game and welcome Bennington at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th. Bennington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trinity in Kansas (Bennington is ranked 45th, while Trinity is ranked 168th). As for Smoky Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
