Game recap: Lomas IV runs for four touchdowns in Central Catholic victory

Ray Lomas IV ran for four touchdowns to lift Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) to a 69-7 beat over Ceres (Calif.). The scores gave the senior 13 touchdowns for the year.

The Raiders were up 56-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Garrett Ardis to Johnny Mundt in the first quarter.

Central Catholic expanded its lead to 56 points entering the fourth quarter. CC's lone score in the quarter came on a Matthew Ringer touchdown run.

A 35-point second quarter helped the Modesto school secure the big victory. The Raiders scored on a Ardis touchdown pass to Mundt, a touchdown run by Lomas IV, a Chris Lein touchdown run, a touchdown run by Lomas IV and a touchdown pass by Ardis to Nathan Loya in the quarter.

The Bulldogs' lone touchdown came on a pass in the second quarter.



Coming into the game Central Catholic had allowed 26.8 points per game this year. CC held firm on the defensive front, and kept Ceres well below the 19.8 points it had been averaging per game.

When the two teams played each other last season, the Raiders came away with a 49-8 victory.

Ceres (2-4) goes up against Los Banos in a Western game matchup next week, while Central Catholic (4-2) locks horns with Pacheco also in a Western game.
