Basketball Preview: William Penn Colonials vs. Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles
William Penn is 2-8 against the Eagles since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The William Penn Colonials will head out on the road to challenge the Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (William Penn is ranked 28th, while the Eagles are ranked 24th).
Last Friday, William Penn came up short against the Cavaliers and fell 43-34. William Penn has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Hodgson Vo-Tech didn't have too much trouble with the Ravens at home on Saturday as they won 52-34.
Hodgson Vo-Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sanaa Saunders young, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Saunders young has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Thailys Torres, who scored ten points along with two steals.
William Penn's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
William Penn was taken down by the Eagles 51-21 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point William Penn was down 32-8.
