Basketball Recap: Guilford Grizzlies vs. Glastonbury Guardians

On Monday, Guilford ended up a good deal behind the Guardians and lost 51-36. While losing is never fun, Guilford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Guardians are ranked seventh).

When it comes to explaining why Guilford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Keira Reynolds. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with four steals. Reynolds is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Kukta, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Guilford has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Glastonbury, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Guilford will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Nighthawks at 6:00 p.m. North Haven and the Grizzlies are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Glastonbury, they will head out on the road to challenge the Red Wolves at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Conard and the Guardians are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
