Basketball Recap: Iowa Colony Comes Up Short

Iowa Colony was the 53-52 winner over La Porte when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Iowa Colony Pioneers fell to the La Porte Bulldogs 62-58.

Phillip Ned had an outrageously good game for La Porte as he went 7 for 11 en route to 21 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Ned has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trent Callies, who posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Iowa Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for La Porte, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Friendswood the next time they take the court. Iowa Colony will host Friendswood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while La Porte will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
