Baseball Recap: Admiral Farragut's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Admiral Farragut made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sarasota Military Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The BlueJackets put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-2 win on Monday. With that victory, the BlueJackets brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Ashton Davis and Jeffrey Crain were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Davis didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Crain pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Crain scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Elliot Heinicka was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Athan Davis, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Admiral Farragut always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win snapped Admiral Farragut's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-10 record. As for Sarasota Military Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.

Coming up, Admiral Farragut will take on Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The BlueJackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Sarasota Military Academy, they will challenge IMG Academy Navy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ascenders' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
