Basketball Recap: Somersworth Takes a Loss

Somersworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 38-20 fall against the Inter-Lakes Lakers. The Toppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Riley Anderson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Inter-Lakes' points. Another player making a difference was Tessa Mutney, who posted four points and six boards.

Somersworth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Inter-Lakes, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Somersworth will take on Raymond at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Inter-Lakes, they are taking a road trip to square off against Belmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
