Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only San Juan walked away with it. They blew past the Parowan Rams 16-4 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
San Juan got a great performance from Kheirra Keith as she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Keith a new career-high.
At the plate, Morgann Mcpherson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Averie Gilson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
San Juan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parowan only posted an OBP of .364.
San Juan is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-15 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Parowan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-24.
