Baseball Recap: Kennedy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Park, Kennedy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Grant Pacers. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Pacers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Enecio Moreno was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Jermaine Brown and Diego Avalos-Daniels did most of the damage at the plate: Brown got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Avalos-Daniels went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double. That's the most hits Avalos-Daniels has posted since back in May of 2025.

Kennedy's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-12. As for Grant, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Kennedy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pacers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
