Basketball Game Preview: Copley Indians vs. Highland Hornets

The Copley Indians will head out to square off against the Highland Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Copley beat Tallmadge 71-65. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 120th).

Meanwhile, Highland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 78-53 win. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Highland is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Copley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Things could have been worse for Copley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-52 loss to Highland in their previous meeting back in January. Can Copley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
