Baseball Game Preview: Windsor Owls vs. DeSoto Dragons

Windsor and DeSoto are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Owls will welcome the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor will be strutting in after a win while DeSoto will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Windsor was able to grind out a solid victory over Herculaneum, taking the game 7-3. The win continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Black Cats: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Cole Scott, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Windsor's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 5-13 when he doesn't). Nate Estopare was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Windsor lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, DeSoto was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell just short of Parkway Central by a score of 2-1.

DeSoto's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Windsor, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-13.
