Basketball Recap: Hooks Takes a Loss

Hooks came up into this matchup off a tough 25-point loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Brookeland Wildcats by a score of 76-74 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hornets have suffered since December 29, 2023.

Cade Morgan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brookeland, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 13 boards. Morgan's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Landon Smith was another key player, going 10 for 20 on his way to 28 points and five rebounds.

Hooks' loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Brookeland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Hooks will take on Daingerfield at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookeland, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chapel Hill at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Brookeland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.3 points per game this season.
