Recap: Eau Claire Shamrocks vs. C.A. Johnson Hornets
The Eau Claire Shamrocks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 62-49 to C.A. Johnson. Eau Claire was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as C.A. Johnson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Leading C.A. Johnson to victory were Milton McCray and Lamont Jackson. McCray scored 14 points, while Jackson scored 17 points along with five steals. The matchup was Jackson's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleal Pearson, who scored nine points.
Eau Claire has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for C.A. Johnson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eau Claire won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ben Lippen at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Ben Lippen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eau Claire in South Carolina (Ben Lippen is ranked 83rd, while Eau Claire is ranked 200th). As for C.A. Johnson, they will head out on the road to face off against Lewisville at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewisville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
