Recap: Jack Britt Buccaneers vs. Cape Fear Colts
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Jack Britt Buccaneers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 44-43 photo finish over Cape Fear. That's two games straight that Jack Britt has won by exactly a single point.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jack Britt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Lord, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jayvien Richardson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Cape Fear lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mehakai Coleman. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coleman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Geronimo Sanchez, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Jack Britt is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Cape Fear, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Jack Britt will be playing at home against Purnell Swett at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Purnell Swett is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Cape Fear, they will head out on the road to face off against South View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
