Apex had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 12-12 to make it four. They fell just short of the Green Hope Falcons by a score of 10-9. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-2 loss two weeks ago.

ADRIAN GONZALEZ and JAY HALE stepped up to the plate in a big way. GONZALEZ went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while HALE went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Apex is 2-1 when GONZALEZ posts one or more home runs, but 10-11 otherwise. CULLEN KLINGEMANN was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
As for Green Hope, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.
On Green Hope's side, Jackson Wall looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Wall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mason Dean and Ryu Fukuyama did most of the damage at the plate: Dean got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Fukuyama got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. What's more, Dean posted three hits, the most he's had since back in March. Sam Weinraub also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Apex does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Green Hope, they will face off against Apex Friendship at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
