Softball Recap: Olentangy Berlin Takes a Loss

Lincoln hit Olentangy Berlin with a four-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Olentangy Berlin and nudges their season record down to 11-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 17-2 Teays Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.3% over those games). As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Olentangy Berlin has already played their next game, a 13-8 loss against Olentangy Orange on the 10th. As for Lincoln, they will venture away from home to take on Teays Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
