            Softball Recap: Taylorsville Warriors vs. Layton Lancers        
        
		
        
        
            Taylorsville's game  last Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Monday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Layton Lancers  8-7. With that  victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2  runs per game.
 Aleya Wegner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  tossed less than ten  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run.

 In other batting news, Taylorsville let  Amari Aguila and  Tianna Hansen run wild. Aguila  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Hansen  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those  three  RBI gave  Aguila a new career-high.  Demi Miller was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 Taylorsville was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Layton only posted a  batting average of  .241.
Taylorsville's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Layton, their defeat was  their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Coming up, Taylorsville will be playing in front of their home fans against Kearns  at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Taylorsville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Kearns has averaged an impressive 6.4  runs per game this season. As for Layton, they will face off against Weber at 3:30  p.m.  on  the 8th.
