Basketball Recap: Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs vs. South Central Falcons

Northside - Jacksonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the South Central Falcons and fell 63-32. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-58 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Northside - Jacksonville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Reginald Gray III went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points and five rebounds. What's more, Gray III also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Joaliel Caraballo was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Justin Blow was nothing short of spectacular for South Central: he dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. Blow is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Quamaine Holloway, who went 5-for-6 on his way to 14 points.

Northside - Jacksonville's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for South Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Northside - Jacksonville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-49 defeat against New Bern on the 4th. As for South Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 77-44 win against D.H. Conley on the 5th.
