Baseball Recap: Wagener-Salley Takes a Loss

After soaring to 25 runs the game before, Wagener-Salley was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They came up short against the Pelion Panthers, falling 12-1. The loss continues a trend for the War Eagles in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Wagener-Salley got a good showing from Logan Devinny, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Devinny didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

Wagener-Salley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Pelion, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wagener-Salley will square off against North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wagener-Salley is facing North at the right time seeing as North is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Pelion, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Pelion Panthers face off against Saluda Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
