Softball Game Preview: Thrasher Rebels vs. Tremont Eagles

Thrasher is 9-1 against Tremont since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Thrasher Rebels will host the Tremont Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Tremont took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Thrasher, who comes in off a win.

Thrasher's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Ashland as Thrasher made off with a 20-0 win. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Delancy Sartain was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Sartain was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs.

In other batting news, Brookelyn Roberts and Carlee Grisham did most of the damage at the plate: Roberts went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Grisham went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brailey Bryan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Thrasher hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Tremont came up short against Baldwyn on Monday, falling 17-7. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Tremont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Thrasher, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
