Softball Recap: Heathwood Hall Episcopal Takes a Loss

Heathwood Hall Episcopal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 7-4 to the Providence Athletic Club Panthers.

Frances Laughlin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Mamie Biel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Providence Athletic Club, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Augusta Christian at 5:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Providence Athletic Club, they will take on Wagener-Salley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the War Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
