Basketball Recap: Pope John Paul II Comes Up Short

If Pope John Paul II was riding high fresh off their 48-19 takedown of Livingston Collegiate Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pope John Paul II Jaguars were dealt a 60-21 loss at the hands of the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons on Friday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Grace Raimer was Pope John Paul II's leading scorer, having posted six points. Jaiden Campbell held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Pope John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-16 record this season.

Pope John Paul II will host St. Helena College and Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. St. Thomas Aquinas has already played their next matchup, a 49-38 loss against Mt. Carmel on the 1st.
