Baseball Recap: Nixon Comes Up Short

Nixon came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Rio Grande City Rattlers, falling 13-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Nixon's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Rio Grande City, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

While Nixon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
