Fort Plain is 9-1 against Schoharie since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers will venture away from home to take on the Storm at 4:30 p.m.

Fort Plain fell victim to Canajoharie and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0. The Hilltoppers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Schoharie came out on top against Mayfield on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Storm were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Panthers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Storm considering their two-run performance the match before.

Gordon Plank spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zaiden Baker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. Tyler Dingee also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Schoharie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mayfield only posted an OBP of .208.

Schoharie has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Plain, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Fort Plain couldn't quite finish off Schoharie in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
