Softball Recap: Reed Extends Home Winning Streak to 13

It's playoff time, and Reed had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Bishop Manogue Miners with a sharp 9-1 win on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won four matches in a row.

Hayley Noble spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Krystyn Noble was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tiare Kanae, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Reed was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Reed's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Bishop Manogue, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-10-1.
