Volleyball Recap: Holland's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After a string of five wins, Holland's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Haven Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss last Monday.

Mykel Corley paced Holland's offense, picking up two kills. Corley got some help from Timothy Salazar and his four assists. Finally, Brayden Morgan kept Holland's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Holland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18-1. As for Grand Haven, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Holland has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Holland Christian on the 7th. Hopefully Grand Haven paid attention to the Dutch's contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Dutch at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
