Softball Recap: Topsail's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Topsail entered their tilt with Hoggard on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Vikings back in March, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

Addison Ash spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Beatty, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Topsail's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hoggard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
