Soccer Game Preview: Neumann vs. North Port

The Neumann Celtics will square off against the North Port Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Neumann's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of First Baptist Academy on Tuesday. The shutout was out of character for the Celtics seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, North Port also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 2-0 to Berkeley Prep on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Buccaneers are ranked 99th).

Neumann's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 0-1-2 and their overall record down to 1-7-2. As for North Port, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
