Basketball Recap: Ursuline Academy Comes Up Short

If Ursuline Academy was riding high fresh off their 58-24 takedown of Legacy Christian Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ursuline Academy Bears had to suffer through a 73-46 loss at the hands of the Prestonwood Christian Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-43 last Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Ursuline Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lucy Devlin posted ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Devlin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Lily Smith was another key player, going 6 for 13 on her way to 14 points and five boards.

Ursuline Academy dropped their record down to 14-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Prestonwood Christian, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-6.

Coming up, Ursuline Academy will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Lynch at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prestonwood Christian, they will head out to square off against Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prestonwood Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
